Theresa Zingery joined the UU Animal Ministries Board in December 2021, initially serving as Treasurer and, as of January 2024 as President. Drawn to UUAM by its mission to "empower individuals, chapters, and congregations to build justice and compassion for animals," Theresa's commitment stems from her deep belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all beings. This conviction, nurtured during her years volunteering at First Unitarian Society (FUS) in Minneapolis, led to her adoption of a vegan lifestyle and her decision to transition from a career as an Adult Education manager to a communication coordinator role at Compassionate Action for Animals, where she previously served on the board.
Theresa's professional journey, encompassing strategic planning, data analysis, budgeting, and planned giving, equips her with valuable tools for her role with UUAM. Beyond her technical expertise, she brings a passion for teamwork and consensus building. Theresa envisions a collaborative effort among individuals, chapters, and congregations within UUism and the broader world to foster an environment where both human and non-human animals are treated with compassion.
